Finding Balance

Finding your own balance

There are many techniques and tools available to us that can aid us in our daily effort to find balance and manage stress. Among the most beneficial in my experience are yoga and meditation. But you can use anything from running to rock climbing as a meditative or thinking practice.

What is essential is to find a way to maximise the potential of that thinking activity. Coaching will help emerge what is the most realistic and meaningful method for you to address your personal needs and help you find balance.

For me it is yoga. I have practiced yoga for nearly 20 years and witnessed first hand the benefits of it in my life – for maintaining balance, wellness, reducing stress and gaining mental clarity. During this time I journeyed to India and was fortunate enough to train under the masters to become a recognised yoga teacher.

Where appropriate I incorporate meditative yoga practice into the business and corporate setting. This method engages teams in a co-operative and co-creative frame of collaboration, which is beneficial for problem solving, brainstorming, stress management, advanced communication and increased stamina.

I also run regular participative meditation and singing mantra sessions from my Open Heart Studio in Parkview, Johannesburg.

“Yoga practice is like life. Each circumstance in which we find ourselves is like a pose. Some poses are hard to hold, others are pleasant. It is how we hold the pose that determines whether or not we will suffer or grow. And whether or not we will listen to the drama of the ego or the wisdom of the spirit” ~ Darren Main
