Team Coaching

Applying a culture of interdependence and interconnectivity

The future belongs to organisations that are able to fully exploit the intellectual capacity at their disposal. The emerging domain of team coaching can assist them to achieve this by engaging collaborative intelligence within organisations for synergistic outcomes within each team.

As with people, organisations are required to develop along holistic trajectories from healthy dependence into healthy independence (not withstanding the inevitable rebellion) and finally into INTERDEPENDENCE – a state where there is open communication within complex systems that enables a flexibility and adaptability in an environment of ever accelerating change.

More often than not, however, there is unhealthy dependence which evolves into co-dependence and systems filled with individualists who are unable to engage meaningfully in teams, thereby crippling the organisation’s capacity to grow and blossom beyond autocratic leadership and closed silos.

A challenge many leaders within organisations face today is how to get everyone involved. When the practice of interdependence/interconnectivity is applied well a new consciousness emerges that ensures buy-in from all stakeholders of different cultural backgrounds. This is the essence for developing elements of interdependence.

Some questions to ponder:

  • What are the conditions that are conducive to developing a mindset of interconnectedness and effective teamwork?
  • What does interconnectedness/interdependence look like in the workplace?
  • What are the obstacles to interdependence/interconnectedness in the workplace?
  • How can organisations overcome these obstacles and create opportunities for interdependence/interconnectedness to flourish?
  • What other tools and techniques can organisations use to deepen employee engagement, connectedness and teamwork?
  • How to conduct meaningful conversations that create sound relationships to overcome triviality, petty individualism and dysfunctionality?
  • How to create mutual respect based on trust?

We engage teams in a process of dialogue to emerge and mine their shared genius, with buy-in and agreement on methods of engagement towards high performance teaming and systems that are feedback friendly and aligned to the values of the organisation.
